| The standard Boxster 986 (1997-2004) uses the same rotor for both front rotors. It also uses the same rotor (but different part number than the fronts) for both rears.
There are 3 different types of rotors available for the standard Boxster:
· Cross-drilled rotors are similar to the S model and have the drilled holes.
· Genuine Porsche rotors are the exact replacement with plain look and no holes.
· Zimmermann rotors are plain with no holes, similar to genuine Porsche..
The Boxster S 986 (2000-2004) uses different rotors for the left and right front. However, the rears use the same rotor for both right and left.
There are fewer choices for the Boxster S, since there all are drilled:
· Genuine Porsche rotors are the exact replacement and have the drilled holes. The rear rotors are available only as genuine Porsche parts.
· Zimmermann rotors are similar to genuine Porsche and do have the drilled holes. They are an option for the front rotors only.
Zimmermann is a major aftermarket manufacturer for Boxster brake rotors. The most noticable difference between genuine Porsche and Zimmermann is that the Porsche parts have painted hats for corrosion protection. In order to get similar protection, you will have to paint the hats on the Zimmermann rotors yourself.

Priced as each.
Please note: Porsche recommends replacing Brake Disc Screws when replacing your rotors/discs, as the threads of existing set screws become deteriorated by the time new rotors are required. Order 2 screws per disc/rotor.
