Pagid brake pads are standard equipment on many of the world’s best performance cars. In addition to shorter stopping distances, Pagid brakes have noticeably reduced fade after multiple stops. The problem with most high-performance brake pads is that they work great when they’re hot, but they squeal when cold and take some time to warm up—and most drivers don’t get their brakes too hot during normal driving. That’s where the Pagid brake pad has an advantage.

Aside from their friction properties, most Pagid brake pad applications come with a special anti-corrosion coating that protects the non-contact parts of the Pagid brake pad from being attacked by salt and moisture. Anti-squeal shims are even included in most Pagid brake pad sets so the low noise characteristics of OE pads can be maintained even with a high-performance Pagid brake pad installed.

OEM Pads (Street Pads) The big advantage to Pagid brakes is their cold friction capability—in other words, the amount of braking ability when the pads are cold. RS-44-Orange This compound has a very good fade resistance and a higher average friction value than the street pads. It is rotor friendly with a very foreseeable non-aggressive friction behavior (stable torque). It’s main application is Porsche racing. It is used on either Short Track or Long Distance; also for front and rear axles.

RS-4-2-Blue This is a high performance compound with good fading characteristics and high cold friction. The most comfortable medium friction sport compound. The Sport Pad is street legal, rotor friendly and OE on various Ferraris and Corvettes.

In addition to their standard aftermarket materials, Mintex also produce a range of specialized materials known as C-Tech racing pads. This family of materials has been developed from their involvement in motorsports. The material, M1144, is mainly used for track vehicles and offers the high performance you would expect from a racing pad.

One of the main characteristics of this material is the ability to work from cold, which gives the user the confidence of a standard material on the first application of the brakes. The benefit of M1144 is experienced as the temperature within the brakes starts to increase. M1144 will remain stable and consistent through to 450oC where a standard material at this temperature will most certainly start to ‘fade’. The ‘bedding in’ procedure for M1144 is the same as any standard material i.e. steady braking for the first 50 miles, avoiding emergency stops. All M1144 pads are supplied with fully branded C-Tech anti noise shims and a C-Tech sticker.
