B&M Short Shift Kit
The B&M Short Shift Kit is a great way to quicken the feel of your car. A short shift kit reduces the travel it takes to shift into each gear by around 35%! Installation takes just an hour or two and your Boxster will feel tighter and more controllable. The B&M is a direct bolt-in replacement for both 5 & 6 speed transmissions (Boxster and Boxster S) and requires only simple hand tools for the installation. The shift lever is made from stainless steel and is counter-balanced at the bottom for very precise shifts.

· Billet Aluminum Pivot Housing With Bearing

· Direct Bolt On Installation

· Stainless Steel Stick

· Teflon® Pivot Bushings

· Shift Throw Reduced around 35% For Quicker Shifts

· B&M Lifetime Warranty

The kit includes all you need for easy installation. The instructions are very straightforward. All you need are a few simple hand tools...

Schnell Short Shift Kit
Up to 30% reduction in throw, (depending on Boxster model shifter being replaced) anodized aluminum housing, new improved brass bushings, drop forged shift rod angled 10 degrees to retain factory hand position.

The Schnell short shift kit is perfect for those who want to shorten the throw of their shifters but do not want the intense 'notchy' feeling of the popular B&M short shift kit. The Schnell has a much smoother transition from one gear to the next.

Aasco Lightweight Flywheel
Can you believe that an OEM flywheel weighs almost 30 lbs! That's 30 lbs. of mass to spin around inside the engine. Think of the energy wasted on getting that hunk of metal to spin up as you press on the gas! Reduce that weight with a lightweight flywheel. The Aasco lightweight flywheel weighs less than 14 lbs. That's over 15 lbs. of weight savings!

Lightweight flywheels are a great way to add performance to your Boxster. They are designed to reduce as much weight as possible but not sacrifice any drivability. If your Boxster needs a clutch, you are already inside the engine and a change to a lightweight flywheel is simply the cost of the part.

-Lightweight 6061-T6 billet aluminum (only 13 lbs!)

-CNC machined to .001"

-Wear-resistant, replaceable treated alloy steel friction inserts

-Stepped Dowel Pins

-Torque plates included in applications where required

-Works with both stock or aftermarket clutches

-The broadest range of applications available

-High quality polished finish

Aasco's aluminum flywheels have some key advantages over stock and other aftermarket units. Machining tolerances are extremely important when making a flywheel. Eccentricity, parallelism, and the step height (which is critical to proper clutch break-in and engagement) are kept to within .0015”, the most accurate in the industry! Dowel pins are hardened steel units and all hardware is grade 8 (grade 10.9 metric equivalent), the highest grade of fastener available today. Torque plates are also included in applications where required and flywheels are checked for zero-balance before shipping.

NOTE: The Flywheel Seal, or known by many as the notorious Rear Main Seal (RMS), is known to be a weak leak in the drive train of the 986, causing oil residue to seep and eventually leak out into undercarriage and garage floor. It is HIGHLY recommended that you replace this seal if you notice even the smallest amount of oil seeping out between the transmission housing and the engine block. In some rare cases the RMS has been known to fail more than once in less than 10,000 miles of driving. If you are tackling a clutch job, you should definitely consider replacing this seal while you're in there.

Power steering insulation kit
This kit contains the protection your Boxster or Cayman needs when running in autocross or the track. A flaw in the design of the Boxster (987 in particular) positions the power steering line next to the heat of the engine block, so in active and strenuous use, the line can melt, the fluid can boil, and the plastic "quick connect" can melt or disconnect. In any case, you lose your power steering.

The best option is a third radiator - installing an extra long line to re-route the power steering line to this new radiator, at a cost of probably $2000. When I experienced this problem at the track (3 times in a ROW) I decided to figure out why it is happening and find a cheaper solution.

Because of the proximity of the power steering line to the engine block, there is no doubt why when the system is being actively used, and temperatures rise, the heat will enter and possibly destroy the power steering line/fluid. Protecting that line is an easier option, and that is where the thermal jacket and tape come in. Let me say that I have installed it, and have since done a number of track days without incident, after 3 consecutive power steering failures preceding its installation.

This thermal jacket insulates up to temperatures of 2000°F - nowhere near where you will be running your engine (hopefully!) but more protection is always welcome. The jacket can be inserted over your power steering line (best if you have the line disconnected at one of your trips to the shop once it fails, as it will slip right over) either intact or by splitting it down the middle and inserting it over while the line is connected to the vehicle. The tape protects up to 500F and is self-vulcanizing, which is to say it is non-adhesive but adheres to itself like glue. Use the tape to seal the split jacket back up.

This kit comes with 24in of Pyrojacket and 48in of Pyrotape - enough to cover your power steering line. The power steering line is 7/16" in external diameter, and the interior diameter of the Pyrojacket we obtained is 1/2", so you have a good fit.

Note on installation: If you do not have the power steering line off and cannot slip it over intact, and must split the jacket (as I did), get someone with small hands to reach in and manipulate the wrapping of the tape over the jacket - large hands will not be able to operate in the close quarters. Contact me directly for more installation tips.
